Today Mom and I are departing for our trip to Italia with our first destination being Roma. I awoke with my alarm this morning at 0600 and began preparing, laundry, packing, cleaning, and bed making. I also took time at 0700 to fulfill my online obligations and get one last chat in.
Kienan, who had spent the night although I had not seen him the previous evening having arrived home at 2300, awoke 0830 and was quite pleased to see me. He coloured on my bedroom floor while I did the last of my headless chicken intimidation and then made our way to Dad’s breakfast of bacon and eggs.
For the last of the packing, Kienan was taken over to play with Casey and Andrew was given responsibility of him, as Dad would drive us to Saskatoon. Trip down was fine with a short hit of our chronic weather problem id est, rain. Things are strange in the province with flooding in the south and fires in the north. It all comes back to rain. Also passed a convoy of four combines, which are definitely out of season.

Before I conclude this entry, I wish to note that this journal was a gift from Susan Slemming and sons, and I am to do at least four things for others. From Mac, if in Venice I must ride a gondola. I am to pick up a shell from one of the beaches or coastline I visit and write my name, location, and date on the shell for Marlene Fellows. Amber wants me to visit and photograph some pillar but I have to ask her where and what it is called again. Robert Chuback of Affinity Credit Union wants a postcard sent to him at the bank.

We arrived in good order sometime before 1940 and as I had a window seat, greatly enjoyed the views during take off and landing [as the images above testify]. The in-flight movie I enjoyed was Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, fast forwarded through Green Zone, which I finally realised one can do, and if I have the choice over the Atlantic, I want to watch DreamWorks’s How to Train Your Dragon. And for my research story writing, they now play a safety video and for AC 1124, they called us to board by row groups.
Supper of fruit, chocolate milk, and sushi was $18.82 purchased from Coyote Jack’s Grill. Speaking of money, the euro is currently being exchanged for $1.45 Canadian. That plus other things has me electing to simply double an items price in Italy to assist with purchasing decisions.
